The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete is a beautifully shot film that shows in full color the grittiness of living on the fringes in the city that never sleeps. A coming-of-age story about two inner city boys who are left to fend for themselves over the summer after their mothers are taken away by the authorities. It has an engaging story, with wonderful performances by all involved—particularly the young maestro (I like that word) Skylan Brooks.
