The Isolation Hospital, Meadow Lane, Long Eaton 1932 to 1939. My Grandmother Edith Jennings (nee Hunt) was the resident nurse from the 1920’s to 1940’s (approx) and treated infectious diseases including smallpox! My Grandfather Len Jennings (Council exterminator), Mother Doreen Adcock (nee Jennings) and Uncle Eddie Jennings also appear in the photos. The Hospital was located at the end of Meadow Lane, to the left, behind the current allotments and accessed by path over Hangman’s Bridge. Sadly, nothing remains of the Hospital but some trees remain which give an indication of its location.
