The Jackie Robinson Family YMCA would like to introduce you to Kelly McCormick, a graduate student at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA where she is studying for her masters in Sport Psychology. Kelly is doing a thesis studying athletes who have quit at least one sport when they were between the ages of 13 and 17 for any reason at all and have quit within the past three years. Our YMCA is reaching out to our parents who may have children who have quit a sport. They may still be involved in sport but would have just had to quit at least one sport. For her study, Kelly is asking that you would first need to agree to a parental consent form about confidentiality and the participant’s rights. The link is below. Once you have agreed to the consent information, then Kelly will email a link to the survey for your child to participate. The questions in Kelly’s survey cover current sport involvement and sport history.
