The League Management Company (LMC) and clubs have agreed to abolish boardroom points in the remaining seven matches of the ongoing Glo Premier League as well as declaration of state of emergency. These decisions among others which formed the 12-point resolutions reached at the joint consultative meeting between the LMC and the Club Owners on Sunday in Lagos are expected to take effect from this mid-week Matchday 32 encounters. The resolutions are part of measures designed to curb the growing cases of intimidation of match officials and crowd encroachment on the field of play. "State of emergency is hereby declared for the remaining seven round of matches in view of the present spate of violence and agitation going on for sometime in the league," the communique stated."That all clubs agree to play in accordance with the rules of the game and in the spirit of fair play, and hereby submit themselves to this Resolution vis-a-vis the remaining seven matches of the league season". Another major point in the resolution is that the LMC shall appoint independent/secret match assessors and security coordinators whose findings and reports shall form part of the official match report to be relied on in reaching decisions on cases brought before the organisers. The meeting also resolved not to award points to teams based on protests by opponents for the remaining games of the ongoing season.
