The Meaning And Purpose Of Fellowship Fellowship can be defined as the following: * Sharing i.e. sharing our faith, joys, challenges, burdens, God’s Word, praying together, striving together for a common cause or purpose. * Participating in activities of mutual benefit. * Communication for mutual joy. The Purposes of Fellowship are: Communion, Association or Partnership – Communion means bringing into a oneness and a drinking together as it were. There is a oneness in fellowship as God has brought us into fellowship with Himself. We are in association with Him, a sharing with Him and a drinking together with Him. Protection – In fellowship we are protected as a group. When a predator wants to attack a prey, the first thing he does is to separate that prey from the group. Pastor explained, ‘satan tries to get you away from fellowship to attack you’. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking (trying to separate you from the group) whom he may devour” So when satan gets you away from fellowship, he is preparing you for an attack! Impartation - In fellowship you can impart what God has blessed you with to another and vice versa. Growth – Fellowship helps you grow. To fulfill destiny – This is the greatest purpose of fellowship: to fulfill your purpose in life.
