The Meduxnekeag River Association recently completed a trek to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa.....well in the backpack of Director Peter Porteous. Whats the fit you ask, climate change. Climate change is having a dramatic effect on all parts of the world including Mt Kilimanjaro. It is estimated that the glaciers on Kilimanjaro may be gone within the next two decades. While continents apart, our Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserve is just one small step in the world wide necessary fight against climate change and global warming. Many more like minded steps are required world wide. We can make a difference and it can start in our own backyard.
