The Mt. Vernon City Council has not changed the time of the meeting on Monday, which will be at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building. A late revision was timed at 6:15 p.m., but that is not the time of the meeting, according to City Manager Ron Neibert. The meeting will still take place at 7 p.m. The council will discuss the duties of the Fire and Police Commission, the duties of Police Chief and Fire Chief and changing the responsibility for hiring and dismissal of the police and fire chiefs and assistant chiefs from the Commission to the City Manager.
