The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has announced in a statement on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) that the crescent has not been sighted yet. The statement added that tarawih supererogatory prayers will be held tomorrow evening throughout Nigeria as fasting takes off on Wednesday. The implication of this is that there is no need for fasting on tuesday. We are all urged to to abide by the NSCIA position in the interest of the unity and the attendant strength of the Ummah.
