The Padres just beat the Pirates 3-2. With ONE hit. So when I tell you that the writers still in that press box say Im lucky not having to endure it, youll understand why. Oh, the Padres won games on only one hit two other times in the history of the franchise, the last time being in 2010. But this season - even more than the previous three - its become an epidemic of failed offense. It isnt coaching, nor managing, its years of failed drafts that were based on budgets rather than drafting the best prospects. Ownership was entirely responsible for that. While current ownership hasnt been in the position long enough to have been responsible for the lack of offense seen in todays Padres, they still need to be held accountable starting with tomorrows draft. The Manager and coaching staff arent the problem here.
