The Pike Central High School boys basketball team fell 50-43 to visiting Heritage Hills on Friday, Jan. 17. Senior Kegan Aldridge led the Chargers (4-4 overall, 0-3 in the Pocket Athletic Conference) with 19 points while dishing out a game-high five assists, while junior Garrett Elliott added 10 points and led the team in rebounds with seven. Sophomore Tyler Toopes had nine points, six rebounds and three steals while blocking five shots. Junior Gavin Schaefer paced Heritage Hills (9-1 overall, 3-0 in the PAC) with 14 points while senior Spenser Minto added 13 points. In the junior varsity contest, sophomore Alex Meunier and Mason Becher scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, to lead the Patriots to a 38-28 win over Pike Central. The Chargers were led by freshman Chase Davis, who scored 14 points. Pike Central will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 18, when the Chargers will host Jasper. The junior varsity game tips off at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 7:30 p.m.
