When I first heard this, I thought the officer was mistaken, but I have talked to several and they all say the same thing. Thats about $27 a year per officer, not counting bulk discounts. I probably average 500-600 a MONTH and maintain about six different load outs/calibers. If an officer has a bad shoot due to lack of training it can cost taxpayers MILLIONS. This is a ticking time bomb for taxpayers of Augusta. This is totally unacceptable and it needs to me remedied NOW. Also, officers that carry an AR15 need to complete a proper tactical carbine class and at least know the facts of use of the weapon. Looking into the training requirements of BOE police as well...
