The San Antonio Spurs, were without Tim Duncan, the LA Lakers were without Kobe Bryant first time since 1996 that these two teams were playing a game without the key franchises players of there respective teams. Tony Parker scores 24 points and dishes out 6 assists, Manu Ginobili scores 20 points and buries three 3-pointers, as the Spurs knocked off the LA Lakers 91-85. If San Antonio wanted to win this key road game, they were going to need there other superstars players and role players to step up and guided this team to victory. Well Tony Parker as the best player of the team was absolutely sensational throughout the entire game. Parker started out very well in the 1st period, scoring 6 points in a variety of different ways, he scored a bucket inside, he also knock down two outside jumpers, he made it extremely difficult for the Lakers defense to do anything to stop him all game long. He even had a good pass to a wide-open Kawhi Leonard from the jumper. Parker continued his strong start into the 2nd quarter, scoring 8 more points, and getting two great passes from C Tiago Splitter for a couple of buckets in the paint. Parker, was also getting everybody else involved, passing the ball twice in the 2nd quarter, to Splitter and Leonard and making easy for them to score a couple of key buckets, during a great comeback in the 2nd period, coming back from 15 down to get within one point at halftime 42-41, Parker had 12 points and 3 assists. Parker continued to show his good leadership on the court in the 3rd quarter, finding Manu Ginobili in the wing and knocking down a 3-pointer, to give the Spurs there first lead, since early in the 1st quarter. Parker once again was scoring a variety ways in the 3rd quarter, getting past the Lakers defense and scoring points in the paint and had a couple of great jumpers as well. Parker took over the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined, he scored 16 of his 24 points during that span where San Antonio got themselves back in the game. Tony Parker Parker made his presence felt in the 4th and final quarter, making a great pass to a wide-open Diaw in the paint and another assist again, making a quick pass to Ginobili for a wide-open 3-pointer in the wing, giving the Spurs a 76-74 lead. Parker wasnt just passing, but his outside jumper was just deadly and difficult for the Lakers to stop. Two critical and clutch shots by Parker allow San Antonio to stay the game and good chance to win the game. Tony Parker wasnt the only player who made a great impact in the game, but Manu Ginobili and Boris Diaw took over the final period. Ginobili scored 7 of his 20 points, which included a 3-pointer, a game-clinching slam dunk and two clutch free-throws to seal the victory. Diaw scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter as well, scoring a couple of buckets in the paint, a critical pull-up jumper, but it was Ginobili who found Diaw in the wing and knock down a clutch 3-pointer with 1:40 in the game that gave the Spurs a 4-point lead. Both players combined to scored 18 of the Spurs 28 fourth quarter points. SG Manu Ginobili had 20 points while shooting 7-14 from the field, 3 assists, 3 boards, 3-7 from 3-point land and 3-3 from the free-throw line. PF/C Boris Diaw had 14 points while shooting 5-11 from the field, 1 steal, 1 assist, 1 board and 3-5 from the free-throw line. PF/C Tiago Splitter and SF Kawhi Leonard did a great job on the boards, combining to get 25 of the 50 rebounds, half of the boards. Splitter had a career-high 14 rebounds, 7 of those boards were on the offensive side and Leonard had 11 boards to balance out the rebounding edge for San Antonio. Tiago Splitter had 9 points with 4-10 shooting, 3 assists, 14 boards, half of his 14 rebounds were on the offensive side.
