The Season of the great Slaughter! The 1st of December heralds the most looked forward season Christmas. Whether you are a Christian or not it is a special time. BUT ANIMAL LOVERS WOULD SUGGEST FOR ANIMALS IT IS THE SEASON OF SLAUGHTER. Christmas season can be extremely painful for animals. Perhaps this is not a good way to herald in the season with a reason. BUT THE PREACHER MUST SOUND THE WARNING BELLS! Matthew 24:40-42 “Two men will be in the field. One will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill. One will be taken and the other left.42 “So keep watch. You do not know on what day your Lord will come.” As we look forward for the weeks ahead let us not forget like animals in the slaughter house we too are heading for the inevitable DEATH. The only difference is we are not in cages! Christmas announces the birth of JESUS CHRIST WHO IS THE PROCLAIMED SAVIOUR OF MANKIND. Luke 2:11 “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord.” AND JESUS CHRIST ANNOUNCED THAT HE CAME FOR THE LOST! Matthew 9:11-13 “The Pharisees saw this. So they asked the disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?” 12 Jesus heard that. So he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Sick people do. 13 Go and learn what this means, ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice.’ (Hosea 6:6) I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.” THIS IS WHAT MAKES CHRISTMAS THE SEASON WITH THE REASON! GOD HAS SENT HIS OWN SON TO SAVE YOU AND ME FROM THE GREAT SLAUGHTER! 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 “When this happens, then at last this Scripture will come true—“Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55-56 O death, where then your victory? Where then your sting? For sin—the sting that causes death—will all be gone; and the law, which reveals our sins, will no longer be our judge. 57 How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord!” The inevitable can be soon or later no one knows, but be ready as JESUS CHRIST PROCLAIMED, Mark 1:15 “The right time has come,” he said, “and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!” WHY MUST WE REPENT? BECAUSE OF SIN! AND ALL HAVE SINNED! (Romans 3: 23) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” AND THE REWARD OF SIN IS DEATH “ETERNAL DEATH” Romans 6: 23 “For the wages of sin is death,…” But JESUS IS GOD’s ATONEMENT FOR OUR SIN! 1 John 2:2 “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” Only through JESUS CHRIST CAN WE receive forgiveness for our SIN! REPENT FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN Don’t be too hard on yourself if you know that your past has caused a lot of pain for you and loved ones just bring it before JESUS CHRIST IN PRAYER! Just tell JESUS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE OF WHICH YOU ARE NOT PROUD OF! This is CONFESSION OF SIN! 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” ASK JESUS TO WIPE AWAY YOUR PAINFULL PAST, AND GIVE YOU HOPE FOR A NEW LIFE, FUTURE AND NEW DIRECTION! THE DIRECTION HOME! That is REPENTANCE! WHY MUST WE BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR? For there is no one in history who has claimed to be the savior of humankind but JESUS CHRIST! John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” No religious leader, preacher or saint can save mankind but only JESUS CHRIST! And in his own words JESUS says, Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” JESUS DECLARES THAT GOD HIS FATHER HAS SENT HIM TO SAVE YOU AND ME! AND THAT WHO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM IS WELCOMED TO GODS KINGDOM! BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST TO BE SAVED ACCEPT JESUS TO BE THE LORD AND SAVIOUR OF YOUR LIFE! This is what it means to BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL. ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST, YOU INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE! YOU BECOME A CHILD OF GOD. THE HEAVENLY FATHER WILL WELCOME YOU TO HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM! You can invite JESUS BY PRAYING THE FOLLOWING PRAYER! (GENUINELY FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF YOUR HEART) “Lord Jesus I need you. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Saviour and Lord. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins. Take control of the throne of my life.
