The Shell of the Person that I am The shell of the person that I am Leaves much to be desired I’ve not much to offer my fellow man. I’ve done some things in my life But not all that I would have liked I was robbed of joys amid life’s strife’s. You tried to take away who I could be And for a while there you did hamper my ability To see what I had inside to help me find who I was meant to be. It took a few years to brave the journey Taking paths that would lead me to my dreams It took a long time to get where I needed to be as I was lost among the forest trees. One day I decided that you have stolen enough That I was going to end all this stuff and get tough I would swim through these waves so rough. Eventually I found the strength within And I found the value I had within to give I am now the person I was meant to be and I have just begun to live! Jeanneclaire Probst
