The Soggy Bottom Boyz Race Team had some great moments last night! We are very proud of our team, not only for their performance, but the sportsmanship they continue to display. In the 50 classes we had three members representing the team. Sawyer Jentzsch took 2nd in both the 50 7-9 and 50 Open. The #30 was on the gas and clearing jumps like a pro. Parker Kiebach took 1st in 50 4-6 and 4th in 50 Open. In his age group, he is unstoppable. Against older piers, this kid can hold his own and earns the respect of his elders! Gavin Spears took 4th in 50 7-9 and 5th in 50 Open. He has a new bike, so watch out once he learns to harness this new powerhouse! Way to go little guys, you did awesome! The 65 classes seen the comeback of the night with Jackson Mails in the first moto. In the second corner he found a downed rider that tied him up for a bit since his conscience would not allow him to just use the pack of bikes for traction! Once back in the saddle, he battled from a half lap down in last place through nearly all the pack to finish third. He went on to take 3rd overall in 65 Beginner with a 3-3. Mavrick Schnieder was the hole shot king on his KTM in 65 Beginner and 65 Open! This was his first time racing at Springfield Raceway but that didnt stop him from taking 1st in 65 Beginner with a 1-3 and 2nd in 65 Open! Nathan Bumgarner took a 4th in the 65 Advanced with a 3-4. What a group of 65s we have here, cant wait to see them at the next race! Can you imagine what is going to happen when this group throws a leg over 85s? The 85 classes had some mixed results throughout the evening. Darren The Dominator Sims went 1-1 in 85 Beginner with an impressive last lap push from third to first. Nathan Bumgarner saddled up his KTM and showed us his consistancy with a 3-3 for 3rd overall in 85 Beginner and 4th overall in 85 Open. His teammate, Mikey Eddings, had a crash on the last lap of the first moto that took him out for the rest of the night. Cameron Wheat, still new to the 250 class, got bundled up in downed traffic in a couple motos. He ended up 7th in Schoolboy 12-16 against some of the areas best talent. In 250 Novice, he had a DNF-6 to take 7th overall. Keep an eye on this one as he continues to grow into this monster of a machine!
