The Speakers Defection Saga. Questions on my mind. Just a sneak - TopicsExpress

The Speakers Defection Saga. Questions on my mind. Just a sneak into this brutal topic, does the constitution of this nation not entertain morality, fairness, rightfulness and conscientiousness into its operation? I guess members of the opposition party, APC may want to say it does not. My second point is that, the Nigerian law recognises the principle of averagely reasonable conduct or am I confused? With the two points above, I now ask the following questions. a) Is the position of the Speaker not tacitly intended by our constitution that it should be filled from the majority party in the House? b) Is it morally justified for Tambuwal to continue in the position of Speaker when he has defected to the minority party? c) Is it fair on the majority party, members of the majority party in the House of Reps who trusted and elected Tambuwal from amongst their midst to lead them, to continue to put up with him as leader after this breach of confidence, seeing that he does not belong in their party and still occupies a position normally and tacitly meant for them? d) Is it tacitly rightful for Tambuwal to continue to be Speaker judging from the tacit stand of our constitution? e) Will the Nigerian nation as a whole entertain this show of unscrupulous exhibition of impunity and conscienceless usurpation of power? f) Is it averagely reasonable for this defection to take place and Tambuwal continues to be Speaker? Are we not entertaining a bad precedent into our polity? g) Is it an acceptable and averagely reasonable conduct from Tambuwal not to include his defection in House matters for discussion for the day? h) Is it morally and reasonably acceptable to the ordinary Nigerian and the House that Tambuwal announced his defection after the gavel came down to put finality to all matters and business of the day in the House? i) Does the conduct and action of Tambuwal in his defection not tantamount to the 419 of the century in this nation? The above are not professional opinions. They are opinions from an average Nigerian.
