The Syrian Typhoon : What the world fails to see in the Middle-East - By Nisaar Y. Nadiadwala Casuality, torture and agression of the Syrian civil war are main news in the Islamic world. Perhpaps the world may not find it so important to put these news on its front lines as main headings. While the Indian Media still struggles to choose catchy the captions and editortials on Advani- Modi tug of war, IPL gambling dens takes a back sit. United States Media circumabulates around the announcments of Obama. Russians are curious to know how will Putin cope up with his new young gymnastic wife. If you ask me, the most dangerous news for me and you and every human are the news streaming in from the Gulf turmoil. Why is it so? 1. The Gulf war is spreading dangerously like a river that crosses it danger line and about the flood. It will take no time. It began with the Afghan Russia war and continued on the borders of Iran-Iraq . Then Russia left brutally injured and America entered the war but the Afghans still continued. The American army descended into the Gulf like a swooping eagle in a desert but got its feet stuck in the sands. Then came the Autumn of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, but our headlines told us that it was ARAB SPRING. So we were deceived again. The struggle continues there. Till then the West supported Democracy in the Muslim land and they kept on saying " we want to give Liberty Fraternity and Equality to Middle East. They have given liberty and equality but in the terms of killing. Muslims are killed liberally, but more than equally. 2. The World fails to realise that entire Islamic world is not holed up in the sands and the mountains of Middle east. They host only around 10 percent of the Muslim world while the rest of 1400 millions are geographically far but spiritually feeling the pain when every picture of a brutally killed child and a raped woman get circulates widely on social networkng sites. The hatred towards US in the Muslims world is all time high. Perhaps no nation in the world was hated so much as US is in the Muslim world. This is a fact and there should be no hyprocrisy in accepting it. 3. If you study the Middle-East wars, few things have gone unnoticed or are concealed. When Israel took over Palestine the reason was military power. They had World war veterans in their army while the palestians were only farmers and sheperds. In past few decades the middle east is fighting. The Israeli youth and their American counter part have turned into obese products of Mc Donalds and Pepsis where as the Palestinians, the Afghans, the Iraqis are now war veterans. They appear to be the most experienced people in warfare. The tide is changing. The robotic armies and drones cannot frighten the entire generation of Afghan, Iraq and now Syria. Even their kids can now sleep peacefully whie cracking sounds of bombardments scream around them . They are growing up as warriors. Isnt it amazing to notice that without the help of NATO or US, the Syrian liberation war has entered into the third year? What keeps them going against a full equipped Goverment supported by Russia, and Iran? As they say in the world of Marathon runners : What keeps you going after a couple of miles is not your strength but your will power. 4. The Middle East is the land of Oil. If any thing wrong goes there, every common man will feel the burn when he will go to buy his needs. The world is not thinking even from this selfish point of view. While we are dumb and blind and deaf to the painful cries of the little children atleast let us see, hear and speak for our economy ! But Alas! Human race will not. That is how we are ruled and that is how we are taught to be ruled. Our hearts and our minds are injected with painkillers like IPLs, hundreds of entertaining satellite channels, Malls and food feasts.
