The Tehenu palette is more properly named the Towns Palette - TopicsExpress

The Tehenu palette is more properly named the Towns Palette because the word Tehenu is actually not on the palette at all. It was conjecture when Egyptologist suggested this to be relate to Tehenu because of the Throwing Stick determinative. They also said the animals were Libyan. If you look through Gardiners work (photo below) you will see he says this throwing stick, written in the way seen below, means Tehenu. Here the /nw/ bowl is missing from the palette, and I know the suggestion will be that this was shorthand. I aint buying it. The reason I am not buying it is because once we begin to attempt to read proto-dynastic motifs that developed into medu neter, we can begin to read what appear to be locations. We can also see who the nysuts or chiefs who governed these proto-dynastic towns were. If we try to follow what I believe to be at least one identifiable location on this palette, through history, we can locate these same people, the Kau, in the Sudan today. Using this and other palettes I would argue Rew (the lion on the top of the town called Kau on the Towns palette) was the chief of the Kau Nehesi. We know during the time of Unas the Kau were a group from Ta Nehesi who were called on for war (see the Unas photo, find the Kaau). In 1975 Leni Riefenstahl spent time with a Sudanese group from the Nuba mountains in a location called Kau. I have argued that these are the same Kau Nuba, or Kau Nehesi people, only problem is, the Nuba appear in history as different people that the Nubians. That information has kept me from placing this info in my current project. But I will move forward with this research and do not mind sharing the information. Lastly, this is not mean to taint the post but honestly, this is where Disney gets their Lion King from. You know about The Scorpion King, but if we are familiar with Dynasty 00 and before we would know about Rw, the lion King. (See TABLE 1 - Abydos succession Dynasty 00-0, according to G. Dreyer- Photo attached) Let me know what you think. Please check the sources before lambasting me. Hotep! Madjai-Vanguards of Kemet
