The Vipers certainly got their share of tight games this weekend, finishing up the tournament with their third nail-biter in a row. Two early runs put the Vipers down 2-0, but they put pressure on their opponent all day, leaving seven runners stranded. Snoopy, who had been pitching marvelously all day, finally broke the ice for the Vipers with a solo home run over the right field fence. Alas, it was not enough despite half a dozen hard hit balls in the last two innings as our girls fell 2-1. We finished the weekend with a winning record against opponents who had a combined .800 winning percentage and lost the two games by a total of two runs. Great effort and attitude by all our girls all weekend! Every aspect of their game was top-notch: pitching, hitting, defense, and base running. Tremendous job, ladies!
