The Year of Cookies, Week 14: Lemon Crinkles One of the first - TopicsExpress

The Year of Cookies, Week 14: Lemon Crinkles One of the first things I learned how to bake as a kid was lemon bars, those deliciously gooey, tart-and-sugary bites of heaven that combine three of the best things ever--shortbread, lemon, and powdered sugar--into one perfect treat. So when I came across a recipe that promised something similar in cookie form, of course I had to try it. And it pretty much delivers. These cookies fill the kitchen with a nice lemony scent, and I love the slightly chewy texture and the sweetness of the powdered sugar coating. I will say that I wouldnt mind a little more lemony goodness, so next time I might up the amount of lemon juice, but everyone else who tried them said they were fine just the way they are. These are super easy to make, which makes them a perfect choice for those days when youre busy but still want something homemade. And theyre on the small side (you use only a rounded teaspoon of dough for each) so you can eat like 300 of them. This recipe is from Lauren Brennan of Laurens Latest.
