The article says that a democratic leaning polling firm questioned Louisiana Republican voters and found that 29% blame Barack Obama for the government failures during the Katrina aftermath vs 28% who blame George W. Bush. 44% were uncertain where to place the blame. The thing to remember is that many Louisianans are *still* trying to recover from Katrina and in their eyes the government failures continue. As an area that was in desperate need of financial recovery BEFORE the financial crisis, the perception of failure on the part of Obamas administration to push through jobs relief is a very real problem. The Democrats running in Louisiana should have been pushing the narrative of Republican obstructionist tactics from the moment they started their campaigns. All the things that you believe that the federal government could and should have been doing these last 6 years to help you... The Democrats would have liked nothing better than to make that happen but we have been blocked at every turn by Republican lawmakers in both The House and The Senate at every turn. Obama cannot even appoint candidates to fill important vacancies in federal departments without their approvals being stalled by Republican filibuster. If you want to see an effective government, voting the Republicans out of office is the first and most essential step.
