The atmosphere here...the mood here is still so sombre. That - TopicsExpress

The atmosphere here...the mood here is still so sombre. That partly explains my silence. But all is well. I still strongly believe God is in control. May Fidels soul find rest in eternal peace&¥may the great comforter, the Holy Spirit, comfort the bereaved. So, back to the Story Teller that I am. Yesterday evening on my way home, I overheard two boys talking passionately about a dog. I was passing, the boys were standing on the roadside with the dog in question leisurely running in circles around them, wagging his tail, whimpering and sniffing the ground. The first boy, who looked like a bad boy from the other side of town was really praising his dog, calling him endearing and heroic names, recounting the number of times his dog had saved him. How the dog once scared street boys who wanted to attack him, how while walking in a bush one day the dog scared off a snake that would otherwise have bitten him...and many more. The boy kept saying how he can never go anywhere without his dog cause anytime, incase of danger, the dog always charge in to save the day. I was really impressed with the way the boy praised his dog. Though it was a childish talk between two boys, it taught me something. It reminded me of this rescuer/lifesaver who is always saving people from situations and circumstances yet only a few people thank&praise or even tell people about him. We call him when we are in need, he responds and helps us, but then we are ashamed of talking about him or praising him. He does us something good or we narrowly escape a tough situation, but instead of thanking God, we give credit to luck or coincidence. You walk out of the house in the morning without inviting him to go with you, but when a problem strikes, thats when you remember to call him for help. Even after hes rescued you, you dont bother to thank/ praise/tell people about him. Isnt this unfair to God? Lets be like the boy. Lets learn to praise the doer. He loves praises. Lets learn to invite him everywhere we go. He is our saviour. ..Am just thinkin
