The best things in life come for free. We’re putting on a not-for-profit comedy show, written by English teachers, about English teachers, set in Bangkok. No one has ever written a great comedy about expat teachers in Asia. We just don’t get it – they are some of the weirdest, most wonderful and most hilarious people we’ve ever met. So we wrote one. What happens when you throw a vegan eco-warrior, a part time carpenter, an academic, a star wars geek, and a Vietnam veteran into the same rice bowl, garnish them with a twitter-obsessed conspiracy theorist and a bar girl, and give a ladyboy nun a fork and tell her to tuck in? What rice bowl? Bangkok. Bangkok, Thailand. It’s called ‘The Natives!’ We are holding auditions TODAY for our show. We’d love to meet English teachers, actors, comedians, or anyone else with some cool talents or ideas which could contribute to the spectacle.
