The border crisis reminds me of the ship that came to our shores with souls trying to escape from Nazi Germany only to be told they could not come into our country, with the result that they had to sail back to Germany and their death. My father-in-law at age around 17 was put on a ship and sent to America by his parents to escape the Pograms in Russia. Im glad he was not met by Rick Perry and the hate-filled militias. There were many Irish immigrants who came to escape the potato famine. ( Read The Famine Ships). So now we are sending back refugee children to their possible deaths by gangs and drug cartels? What kind of people are we? A few years ago, someone here in my hometown wrote a letter to the editor complaining about a Mexican fruit market that had opened up. The person did not like the name: Fruiteria. Said she did not recognize our town anymore. What kind of stupid is that? I have never seen and heard so many mean-spirited people !
