The brains of males and females respond differently to high fat - TopicsExpress

The brains of males and females respond differently to high fat diets, and it seems to be something to do with PGC1A. We test for this gene! The difference observed seems to revolve around the increased inflammation that males get when they consume a high fat diet, as compared to females, and obviously there is a genetic element to this relative to PGC1A. Wide variations in blood sugar also seem to stimulate this inflammation in such instances as overfeeding. Some great science updates today at #MuscleGenes HQ!
