The church sign in my neighborhood reads: find joy in giving not getting. We all know that the joy of giving is in the enjoyment of the receiver. So if everyone followed the advice on the church sign, the joy of giving would be ruined because the receiver would feel no joy in getting thus depriving the giver of his joy. Once again, a joyless philosophy full of logical fallacy and wholly dependent upon denying human nature. Why cant we enjoy both giving and getting?
