The commentariat on the NYT piece in which the Koch broz/Ed Meese plan to shut down the government is detailed is blistering. One of the threads is the nihilism of the Tea Party, and the origin of the ACA in the Heritage Foundation and Romney/MA conservative plans. Paul Rossi of Philadelphia suggests this is a coup, as in, take over the government coup: "Paul Rossi Philadelphia This should be front page news not just in print in the New York Times, but throughout the nation and in all media. Through false equivalence and laziness posing as "even-handedness", our radio and television outlets, including responsible and conscientious sources like NPR, continue to hawk the current crisis as some sort of breakdown in both parties, a generic "Federal Government" problem, with a "shame on both your houses" inflection. Now we find out that this "crisis" is exactly what it has seemed to many of us all along: a deliberate, orchestrated attempt to wreck the government by a number of oligarchs and their well-paid and well-fooled dupes.
