The concept of preparing the youth of Detroit with a proper education so they are prepared to enter the job market never occurs to the politicians in Detroit. The thought of luring jobs and opportunities with tax breaks so the people of Detroit can make an honest living never seems to occur to the politicians. I cannot believe that they think that this is a start for anything. One shipping container home wont turn around Detroits housing woes. The city emerging from bankruptcy has roughly 40,000 vacant homes waiting to be demolished. But its a start and, organizers hope, a model to lure and keep residents as Detroit removes blight and recovers from bankruptcy.
