The evidence that professional online apologists use to claim that jesus was really a historical person is comical. The best sources that they claim to be nonchristian, secular, hostile, pagan, etc, are actually 100% written by christians, decades later. We do not have the original nonchristian manuscripts of almost all of them, if they even existed. For example, Tacitus, Josephus and Pliny the Younger were written by christian monks, around 1000-1400 years later. Others, like Thallus and Phlegon, only exist in the writings of christian leaders or church fathers. The earliest manuscripts of Suetonius and Lucian are from the 9th and 10th centuries. Most of this nonchristian evidence, was written by christians and kept in christian monasteries. All of the originals that christian leaders had in their possessions, are lost. The same claim is made for complete NT manuscripts earlier than the 4th century. It is like a massive the dog ate my homework excuse. It is very telling that all the hundreds upon hundreds of books that christians didnt have possession of, are not lost and dont mention fictional jesus. Most people who argue against a historical jesus, dont even know the origins of the claimed jesus evidence, before they begin debunking it. Christian apologists will not reveal these facts in their 100s of online articles that claim there was a historical jesus. Even more ironic is that apologists have to refute their only anonymous 4th century NT sources by dismissing jesus 1st century fame. A real, human and relatable jesus is vital to their entire house of cards. They even have to temporarily suspend the NT claims of his divinity and miracles for their historical jesus.
