The fallout from Annies joining General Mills has been intense. Id like to share with you Robyn OBriens take on this. She explains this from an analyst perspective. Bottom line: Brands like Stonyfield did this and remained in control of ingredients. Access to the tipping point consumers at Walmart and other stores takes capital, but joining a larger portfolio grants instant access thus expanding access to organic food. But heres my question and thought: Since Annies core audience has left them, this opens up a BIG opportunity for another brand to expand their products to contain Mac & cheese OR leaves room for another trusted brand to rise up to take their place. I think a savvy mission based business person is going to recognize this. Whos it going to be? Post, robynobrien/_blog/Inspiring_Ideas/post/annies-acquisition/
