The funding from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs will be awarded to ten childcare facilities in the county through the 2014 Early Years Capital Programme. The money announced by the new Children’s Minister, James Reilly is to be used for repair and maintenance works and to upgrade current facilities around the county. Buddies Creche and Childcare Centre, Ballyduff and Valentia Island Resource & Childcare Centre will each receive €48,500. Killorglin Family Resource Centre will receive over €18,000 while Ballyspillane Childcare Service, Killarney and Danú Childcare in Rathmore will each receive just over €17,500. Camp Community Childcare Centre gets over €16,000 and Tír na n-Óg Community Childcare Centre, Ballybunion, will receive over €15,000. Elsewhere, Cumann Iosaef, Balloonagh, Tralee; Little Acorns, Kilgarvan and Dromid Childcare Centre will share a further €6,000
