The historic #BudalangiRising Investment & Tourism Conference ended today at the MMUST Bunyala Campus, Mundere. This unique event has opened our land to the whole world, as we showcased our very best to a very broad audience. Indeed the event attracted huge interest from all over, including the Japanese, Slovakian and Moroccan Embassies, Ministries of Trade, Tourism & East African Affairs, Industrialisation and Devolution & Planning; key state agencies like Tourism Fund, Kenya Tourism Board, Export Processing Zones Authority, Export Promotion Council, Nakumatt Holdings, Youth, Women and Uwezo Funds and Kenya Investment Authority; and a wide array of political leaders, including Gov Sospeter Ojaamong, Senators Amos Wako and Bonnie Khalwale and Hons Racheal Ameso (Kakamega), Sakwa Bunyasi (Nambale), Wilbur Ottichilo (Emuhaya) and Silvance Osele (Kabondo Kaspul)...and of course hundreds of our own people amidst other guests. Among instant breakthroughs is a commitment of Kshs 15 million Japanese funding for a project of our choice, twining of our new campus with a Technical University in Rabat as well as Moroccan Government scholarships for our students, and escalation of our already ongoing development cooperation with the Slovakian Embassy, which is funding a project at Port Victoria Primary School.
