The inventor, Reginald Fessenden lived in Fergus at one time with his parents. The house that they lived in was the Anglican Church manse which was located behind the present day Fergus Medical Centre. (the house was demolished about ten years ago). The first picture is of Reginald Fessenden standing by the ice formation that used to form on the north side of the limestone walls in Mirror Basin. This picture was taken shortly before the family moved away. The second picture shows the back of the Fessenden House/church manse, on top of the cliff, to the south of the Tower Street Bridge. Fessendens favourite cave is still on this side of the river and became known as the CPR cave because a CPR lantern + wood burning stove and still were discovered in it in the mid 1920s.
