The killing of Mike Brown is extremely disheartening and unfortunate. Black people have never had a fair playing field in this country and thats the bottom line! And I know some white people and even some black people may beg to differ about my view on racial equality because of things like, abolishment of slaves, civil rights movements, affirmative action, ECT. But the playing field is never fair when you cheat for 7 innings and then make the game fair for the last 2. You have to damn near perform miracles to even compete. That is what we, African Americans, go through in this country. You have to be beyond perfect to get a fair chance for bright future in the United States. Furthermore we, African Americans, have a responsibility to our children and our future. We must learn to NOT let our emotions be our dictator, make better decisions/choices and teach our children to do the same. My people perish from the lack of knowledge…so if you KNOW the way the system works, you KNOW the playing field aint fair, you KNOW you are a target, why put yourself in precarious situations where the powers that be, are tyrants against you? In know way, shape, or form am I saying Mike Brown put himself in front of that police officers gun, but I bet donuts to dollars if he would have made a better choice when he had the encounter with the officer, he would still be alive. And thats what really matters. The world will never change! Quit wasting time and energy trying to change it and focus on what you have undeniable power to change… yourself.
