The large landing ship Nikolai Filchenkov of the Russian Black Sea Fleet has left Novorossiysk for the Bosporus to join the Russian naval group in the Eastern Mediterranean in the next few days, a military-diplomatic source said. "The Nikolai Filchenkov under the command of Captain 2nd Rank Igor Dmitriyenko has left Novorossiysk today and headed to the Bosporus. It will pass through the Bosporus and the Dardanelles in the company of the guard ship Smetlivy. In the Mediterranean, the ship will fulfill combat tasks in appointed districts as part of an operative junction of the Russian Navy," the source said.
