The latest from the mayors office on snow removal in Rapid City: Downtown snow removal is scheduled for tonight. Snow will be piled on the corners and hauled throughout next week during the overnight hours. Night crews worked through the night to keep traffic moving and start the plowing operation. Additional personnel were brought in at 3 a.m. as snow totals continued to increase. Contractors were contacted for additional assistance in the residential areas at 7 a.m. Saturday. Mainline, hill and collector plowing was nearing completion around 8 a.m. All crews will move into residential areas as they become available.
