“The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse” - Proverbs 10.32 Some people are very careless with regard to what they say. The do not care if what they say is appropriate or whether it hurts the person they are talking to. They take pride in the fact that that they are straightforward people who honestly say what they think. However, it is nothing less than impertinence. They tread on the feelings of others WITH SPIKES ON THEIR FEET. These people normally live a very lonely life because others steer very clear of them as much as they possibly can. People who are aware of the powerful impact words have, use them to help, encourage and heal. Unpleasant truths sometimes have to be expressed, but then one must do so with firmness and tenderness which will alleviate the pain that necessarily follows. When, as a Christian, you are required to speak frankly, it would be wise to spend time in quiet meditation with God first. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order that you may receive the grace to handle unpleasant tasks with sympathy, dignity and love. LORD, GUIDE ME TO TACTFULLY EXPRESS THINGS THAT MAY NOT BE EASY TO HEAR. HELP ME TO HANDLE THE SITUATION WITH TENDERNESS AMEN
