The major reason why I abhor or fear Christian rulership in Taraba State is their usual penchant for greed, nepotism, partiality, lopsidedness & favoritism as exhibited by the previous regimes. Justice, moral uprightness, fairness & equity are never in their character as they always bring their ethno-religious sentiments to bear on official & statutory matters which require the utmost sense of fair judgement, sensitivity, statesmanship & moral propriety. We were once witnesses to the sordid situation when the offices of SSG, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader, Minister & 12 out of 16 Commissioners, etc, were all reserved for Christians in one fell swoop, leaving the Muslims with only the position of the Deputy Governor, which is merely ceremonial ! So, what is just wrong with their senses of reasoning ? Are they trying to forcefully marginalize the Muslims in this state, or are they meaning to tell us that they are serving the god of injustice, persecution & victimization ? I think it is high time for them to take a cue from Muslim leaders like UTC & Sani Abubakar, who ran an open, fair, just & all-embracing administrations by sharing out political positions on equal basis, and even giving the Christians a slight edge in a number of cases. Let them realize that there is no single tribe or religion which is more dominant or superior to the other in this state, and that no matter how hard they try, they can never succeed in wishing away the Muslims in this state or making Christianity the dominant or official religion in this state ! A word is enough for the wise !
