The minister (Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney) told - TopicsExpress

The minister (Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney) told Radio-Canada on Friday that the government is eyeing the thresholds established in Canadian law for the preventive arrests of people thought to be contemplating attacks that may be linked to terrorism. Officials are considering how to make it easier to press charges against so-called lone-wolf attackers. Preventive arrests for people thinking of doing something doesnt sound like something that could be easily abused at all huh. Not open-ended at all. Theyve been waiting to pass these laws for a long time and now that they have a window they want to stuff as many control measures as they can before they cant pull the sympathy and emotions card anymore. What happened is horrible but this is ridiculously open ended and I can promise will be used equally against environmentalists and anti-oil activists as it would actual violent criminals. cbc.ca/news/politics/ottawa-shooting-harper-government-wants-to-make-terror-arrests-easier-1.2811571?cmp=rss
