The moment someone tries to distract the person we love, we became vulnerable to acting negatively and instead of trying to win that person back we go into rage of jealousy that drives the person farther away from us. Instead of looking at it as an opportunity to show our appreciation and love for someone, we actually make it even more difficult for them to love us. If we really love our partner, then DO NOT FIGHT him, but rather FIGHT FOR him, fight for the love that he deserves and not only for the love that you want from him.
