The most amazing situation happened tonight that has left me amazed and shocked beyond words. A family member was in severe pain and was taken to Mt Hope Hospital in Trinidad. The family member was turned away and was told It is not an emergency and further more they should not come to the hospital on a Monday night! The X-ray and the pharmacy Depts. were closed at 4pm. The Nigerian doctor on call said the family member can choose to wait 9-10 hours before they can be seen by a doctor or they can choose to go to the Health Center which was closed for the day! I am so shocked and appalled by the situation!! Where are the Health Ministers who are paid the big bucks to ensure the people of Trinidad and Tobago receive proper medical treatment?
