The motion of an object that is speeding up or slowing down - TopicsExpress

The motion of an object that is speeding up or slowing down is called non uniform motion. If the objects speed is increasing at a fixed rate it is uniformly accelerated motion. In our case, the body moves with a constant acceleration ― speed is increasing in a fixed direction. The interesting relationship here is between distance and time. The distance depends on both the time and speed. Since the speed is also proportional to the time, the distance depends on the square of the time. So, in the case of constant acceleration, the distance is proportional to the square of the time. The general equation when the acceleration equals a (constant acceleration) is The object moves by uniformly accelerated motion if a constant force acts upon it. The greater force produces the greater acceleration. When the same force acts upon different masses, the greater mass receives the smaller acceleration. A statement of these findings is a Newton’s second law of motion. #Pallavi
