The news of Festus Odimegwu resignation as Chairman of NPC may have come as a rude shock to many, especially to those who got deep confidence in his capacity to deliver to Nigerians the first ever credible, reliable and acceptable population census come 2016. The instructive fact from this episode of his short unceremonious stint in the public service is that not many clean men whose background is entirely in the private sector can withstand the stench and odour that characterize the nations public sector.
