The response I received form Ikea about the use of palm oil in their products. Hi Stacey, thanks for your post and we appreciate your interest in this important issue. By the end of 2015 IKEA will only use fully traceable, segregated, certified and well-managed palm oil. Currently, we buy Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Certificates equivalent to 100% of the volume of palm oil used in our products. Therefore we can guarantee that we support sustainable production of palm oil and that the same volume as we use in our products is produced in a sustainable way by RSPO certified growers. IKEA want to have a long-term positive impact on the palm oil industry and we are constantly looking for new and more sustainable materials for our products. Our long-term goal is to use only sustainable materials in all products.
