The sincere building or re-building of any society has never been known to be easy. It requires sacrifice on the part of everyone, sacrifice that sometimes makes us ask whether it is worth it after all. But in truth – in the innermost recesses of our hearts and souls – our inner being answers that question for us even when we try to avoid it. It tells us that if we fail to make those sacrifices, we are ultimately failing to lay an enduring foundation for the generations yet unborn, our children and our children’s children. Certainly, when we might have done our part and are long gone from this earth, none of us will be remembered for the number of houses that we built or the fleet of luxury cars that we rode in. Our sacrifice, deep thinking, selflessness, reasonableness and an abiding commitment to make the world a better place for those around us and those coming after us is the only memory that endures. ~ JKF
