The small percentage of people who resorted to violence and vandalism last night in Ferguson does not represent the views or actions of the majority. (It is not uncommon for violence and vandalism to be perpetrated by a small percentage of people in a large crowd here and around the world at sports arenas, strikes and rallies.) The majority of people in Ferguson who were out last night waiting to hear the jurys decision were people who care about justice. What happened to Michael Brown in Ferguson was unjust and to not examine the case closer was unjust. Racism and police brutality are unjust. The people in power in Ferguson were more concerned with maintaining order than maintaining justice. Its really sad and I feel for the family of Michael Brown and for the people in his community who encounter racism and injustice on a daily basis. This is everyones business. We have to care about all human beings, we have to talk about racism and work together to do all we can to eliminate it.
