The story that follows is the origin of the Seattle Seahawks and the 12th Man. A long time ago, in the fray and dreary land of the Puget Sound, a hawk flew over the whispering ocean. In a hushed voice he heard the sea beckoning him closer. Cautiously he hovered near. The sea claimed if he bathed in his waters, the land and its people would graw to love him. He would be given powers none could predict. Trusting the words of the sea, the hawk dove into the cold water. Almost instantly he felt a rush in his soul, filling him with pride and purpose. He rose again from the sea and saw his reflection in the rippling waves. His once brown and tawny feathers had changed blue and green. Feeling his heart pulse rapidly, his destiny became clear. He began soaring across the country, finding young men and instilling the love for the heroic blood sport known as football. He gathered these men and brought them back to Seattle, where they began to train for the battles to take place. Next, the hawk took to the skies over the land he knew so well and began to cry a battle song. Without knowing it, his voice sang to the spirit inside the people living on the land. He sang of the victory and devotion to the new soldiers in the field. Sang of strength and unwavering pride. The people cried out in elation that they would love and cheer on the new men as their own. One day in the cold rain the men decided to name themselves after the mighty hawk. Thus the Seattle Seahawks were born. The day had come for the Seattle Seahawks to have their biggest battle. The people of the area gathered to witness the game. As the heat of the battle grew and the roar of the crowd boomed, the hawk used its strongest magic and cast the spirit of the fans onto the battle field, destracting and destroying the enemy team. Every game since the magic of the hawk lingered, helping the Seahawks win game after game. The fans could feel the magic fill their hearts as they helped the team. The Seahwks, as a thanks, named their fans the 12th Man and declared them as the best in all the world. And all the magic in the hawk grew from the love of the people that he became immortal, spending his days as the guardian of the Seattle Seahawks and the 12th Man. This is my own personal work. Please, share but do tag me in them. Thank you, Sarah Emery
