In her landmark 1963 book about San Francisco restaurants, A Cooks Tour, Doris Muscatine called Hang Far Low the undisputed king of chop suey makers in these parts. In the 1960s, Hang Far Low became Four Seas, and now the family operation - self-proclaimed as the oldest restaurant in Chinatown - is run by second-generation owner Sara Lim.
