The untimely death of Phil Hughes last week highlights the amazing work done by medical teams in the hospital environment. The Australian Cricket Team Doctor thanked the hospital staff involved in this event, but superbly trained people cope with these emergency scenarios every day. 99% of these thpes of accidents are never reported, and the medical staff just get on with doing their job. As with many health professionals on the front line in emergency care, they are underpaid, undervalued, under appreciated, and under resourced. Just normal people doing wonderful humanitarian roles in our community. We dips our lids to them!
