The wifi on my laptop has not been cooperating this week, so I havent had a chance to share all of the amazing things that happened to me this weekend. 1. I found out that there is a HUMONGOUS audience for folk music in the Hartford area, as evidenced by the monstrous turnout at First Church of Christ Congregational, West Hartford to see Run Boy Run perform for our Arts in the Center concert series. Twice. Because too many people showed up for the first one. 2. I rediscovered that children do inherently love good folk music - once again, at the hands of Run Boy Run - as they enjoyed in-school concert/assemblies on Monday AND got their precious faces in the paper for it. 3. I got to PERFORM with Run Boy Run at these concerts and momentarily feel like a rock star. 4. I got to witness a small-world situation as a member of Run Boy Run connected his fathers career very closely with my roommates through bizarrely close personal connections, shared over said roommates homebrewed beer. 5. As Grace Rolland flailed her arms in celebration for discovering a Dolly Parton record in Ryan McMahons record collection, she may have accidentally punched me in the crotch. 6. I got to wake up Run Boy Run with a banjo song. I had a really good weekend. Those guys are unbelievable.
